“Alicia

James Bobin toma el
relevo de Tim Burton en la dirección de ‘Alicia a través del espejo’
(Alice Through the Looking Glass). La secuela de ‘Alicia en el País de las
Maravillas’ que se estrena el 27 de mayo, puede ser “el primer punto de
contacto sobre la igualdad de sexos para niños y niñas”, destacó la actriz que
da vida a Alicia.
Los años pasan para
todos, y la protagonista no iba a ser menos. Cuando Alicia (Mia Wasikowska), ya
convertida en una mujer, despierta en el País de las Maravillas se verá
obligada a viajar a través de este mundo fantástico y, con ayuda de la
cronosfera, intentar cambiar el pasado. No tiene otra elección, y es que tiene
que rescatar a su fiel amigo el Sombrerero Loco (Jonny Depp), “no puedes descuidar
a tus amigos”, la advierten antes de adentrarse en la País de las Maravillas.
Inmersa en una trepidante aventura Alicia deberá detener al maquiavélico Tiempo
(Sacha Baron Cohen) antes de que se cumpla el plazo que marca el reloj, sino el
mágico país se convertirá en un mundo yermo y estéril. Al que se le suma la
malvada Reina Roja (Helena Bonham Carter), con la que tendrá que volver a
lidiar para frenar sus perversos planes.
En la secuela, Alicia simboliza
una clase de mujeres adelantadas a su tiempo, situación que aparece reflejada
en el conflicto generacional que acaece entre Alicia y su madre. Según el
cineasta británico, el personaje interpretado por Wasikowska representa una
nueva generación de mujeres que aspiran a mucho más que a tener hijos y a cuidar
del hogar.
La actriz que da vida al
rol protagónico resaltó que el nuevo largometraje “profundiza en la
individualidad de Alicia”, cuya seguridad y amor propio aumenta tras vivir
múltiples aventuras como capitán de un barco, experiencia que aparece en el adelanto
lanzado por Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. El debate sobre la igualdad
entre hombres y mujeres es una cuestión que emerge en la película. “Todavía
queda mucho camino por recorrer”, advirtió Mia, mostrando su punto de vista
inamovible, y es que sería excelente si el personaje de Alicia “es el primer
punto de contacto para niños y niñas”.
Al igual que le primera
parte de la historia, ‘Alicia a través del espejo’ es un relato escrito en 1871
por el británico Charles Lutwidge Dogson, bajo el seudónimo de Lewis Carroll.
La novela, cuyo nombre original es ‘A través del espejo y lo que Alicia
encontró allí’, la protagonista deberá participar en una perturbadora partida
de ajedrez.
Aunque James Bobin haya
sigo el elegido para encargarse de la dirección, Tim Burton ha formado parte
“desde el principio”, aseguró Bobin, interviniendo en los guiones, el casting y
el rodaje. Linda Woolverton, de ‘Maléfica’ o ‘El Rey León’, ha sido la creadora
del guión. Por otro lado, Anne Hathaway vuelve a encarnar a la Reina Blanca,
así como Stephen Fry que da voz al Gato de Cheshire. Rhys Ifans dará vida a
Zanik Hightopp.
La cantante americana
Pink canta el tema central de la película, ‘Just Like Fire’,
que formará parte del BSO de la película, compuesto por Danny Elfman, creador
de la sintonía de Los Simpson.

Looking Glass’. The sequel of ‘Alice in
Wonderland’ which premiere is scheduled for the 27th of May, can be “the first
contact point on gender equality for boys and girls”, emphasised the actress
who gives life to Alice.
The
years pass for everyone, and the protagonist isn´t going to be less. When Alice
(Mia Wasikowska), an adult woman, awakes in Wonderland will have to travel
through this fantastic world, and with the help of the chronosphere, she will
try to change the past. She has no choice; because she has to recue to his
faithful friend the Mad Hatter (Jonny Depp), “friends cannot be neglected”, is
warned before going into Wonderland. Deep into a frenetic adventured Alice must
stop the evil Time (Sacha Baron Cohen) before the deadline that marks the
clock. If she doesn´t achieve this aim the country will become in a barren and
meager world. Alice will have to deal with the Red Queen (Helena Bonham Carter)
too for stop her villainous plans.
In
the sequel, Alice symbolises a class of woman ahead of her time, situation that
appears reflected in the generational conflict between Alice and her mother.
According to the British filmmaker, the character interpreted by Mia Wasikowska
represents to a new generation of women who aspire to much more than have
children and take care of their houses.
The
actress who gives life to the protagonist role underlined that the new film
“delves into the individuality of Alice, whose security and self-esteem
increase after live several adventures as a ship captain, experience that
appears in a scene
launched by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. The debate about equality
between men and women is an issue that appears in the film. “We still have a
long way to go”, advised Mia, showing her immovable point of view, in fact
would be excellent if the character of Alicia “is the first point of contact
for boys and girls”.
Like
the first part of the story, ‘Alice Through the Looking Glass’ is a tale
written in 1871 by the British Charles Lutwidge Dogson, under the pseudonym of Lewis
Carroll. In the novel, which original name
is ‘Through the Looking-Glass, and What Alice Found There’, the main character
must participate in a disturbing chess game.
Although
James Bonin has been the chosen for being the filmmaker, Tim Burton had been
part of the project “since the start”, claimed Bobin, participating in the
scripts, the castings and the shooting. Linda Woolverton, of ‘Maleficent’ or
‘The Lion King’ has created the script. On the other hand, Anne Hathaway
returns as the White Queen, as well as Stephen who gives voice to the Cheshire
Cat. Finally Rhys Ifans is Zanik Hightopp.
The
American singer Pink sings the central movie song, ‘Just Like Fire’,
that is going to be in the soundtrack of the film, composed by Danny Elfman,
creator of The Simpsons theme.
