El próximo 4 de
julio se estrenará en los cines El
extraordinario viaje de T. S. Spivet, un película en 3D del guionista y
director francés Jean-
Pierre Jeunet, director a su vez de Amélie,
Delicatessen, La ciudad de los niños perdidos, Largo domingo de noviazgo y
Alien: Resurrection. El filme, presentado en la 61ª edición del Festival de San Sebastián recibió el Premio César
El extraordinario viaje de T. S. Spivet cuenta la historia de un niño superdotado de 12 años que vive en un
rancho en Montana. Su padre tiene una profunda obsesión por los cowboys, su madre se dedica a estudiar
escarabajos y su hermana mayor vive preocupada por su imagen. A pesar de su
temprana edad T. S. Spivet trabaja para varias revistas de cartografía
haciéndose pasar por adulto hasta que un día una institución científica le
comunica que es el ganador del Premio Baird por sus publicaciones. Decidido a
recoger su premio en Washington D.C. se va de casa sin avisar a su familia,
comenzando así su aventura.
El protagonista de
la trama es Kyle Catlett, el joven actor ha trabajado en la serie televisiva The following como Joey Matthews y en Poltergeist (2013). El elenco lo
completan Callum Keith Rennie a quien pudimos ver en Expediente 39 y Californaction,
Helena Bonham Carter (Alicia en el país
de las maravillas y Los miserables),
Judy Davis (Pasaje a la india y Poder absoluto), Dominique Pinon,
Julian Richings, Niamh Wilson y Jakob Davies.

The 4th of July will be released in theatres
“The Young and Prodigious T.S. Spivet” a 3D movie from the French screenwriter
and director Jean-Pierre Jeunet,
director of “Amélie”, “Delicatessen”, “City of Lost Children”, “A Very Long
Engagement” and “Alien: Resurrection”.
The film, presented at the 61st edition of the San Sebastian Film
Festival, received the 2013 Cesar Award for Best Picture.
“The Young and Prodigious T. S. Spivet” tells
the story of a 12 years old exceptionally gifted child who lives on a ranch in Montana.
His father has a deep obsession with cowboys; his mother is engaged in studying
beetles and his older sister lives worried about her image. Despite his young
age T. S. Spivet works for several cartography magazines impersonating an adult
until one day a scientific institution tells him that he is the winner of the
Baird Prize for his publications. Determined to receive his award in Washington
D.C. he leaves his home without telling his family and this way he starts his
adventure.

the young actor has worked in the television series “The Following” as Joey
Matthews and “Poltergeist” (2013). The cast is completed by Callum Keith Rennie
who we could see in “Case 39” and “Californaction”, Helena Bonham Carter
(“Alice in Wonderland” and “Les Miserables”), Judy Davis (“A passage to India”
and “Absolute Power”), Dominique Pinon, Julian Richings , Niamh Wilson and
Jakob Davies.
“The Young and Prodigious T. S. Spivet” is the
film adaptation of the best-seller “The Selected Works of T. S. Spivet” by Reif
