La dolce vita


 

La Sala Canal de Isabel II (Madrid) acoge la exposición, hasta el 6 de enero, "Los años de la dolce vita" que revive el esplendor de Roma durante los años 50 y 60, convertida en la Hollywood europea. En esos años Italia se convirtió en el centro del cine y atrajo a los más famosos intérpretes y directores italianos y americanos. Personajes como Kirk Douglas, Elizabeth Taylor, Richard Burton, Charlton Heston, Cary Grant, Clint Eastwood, Jane Fonda, Joan Collins, Audrey Hepburn, Gregory Peck, Anthony Hopkins...iban a rodar a la "ciudad eterna".
 
La exposición adquiere el nombre de la película de Federico Fellini, 'La Dolce Vita' donde retrató perfectamente lo que se vivía en esos años 50 y 60 en la capital de Italia. La colección reúne una gran selección de fotografías históricas, diseños, trajes, dibujos ,libros y vídeos, la mayor parte provenientes del mundo del cine. Roma no sólo se convirtió en un plató, sino también en el centro de un nuevo estilo de vida lleno de glamour, protagonizado por firmas de gran prestigio. En este sentido, Bulgari ha cedido una selección de dibujos de sus diseños y fotografías de grandes actrices de Hollywood que llevaron sus joyas, mientras que Brioni, sastre de todas las celebridades de la época desde Cary Grant a Anna Magnani, presenta una selección de dibujos, fotografías, trajes de la época y un vídeo del primer desfile masculino del año 1952. Así mismo y para completar esta visión del estilo característico de los años de la dolce vita, en la exposición se exponen dos vestidos de Valentino y Cristóbal Balenciaga, en cuya colección de 1957 se inspiró Fellini para realizar su famosa película. Ambos proceden del Museo del Traje-CIPE de Madrid.

La exposición cuenta con  el documental Hollywood sobre el Tíber, realizado por el periodista, crítico y director de cine Marco Spagnoli, quien es uno de los mayores especialistas en esta época.

 The Sala Canal Isabel II (Madrid) will host the exhibition "The years of Dolce Vita" which is about Rome during the 50s and 60s, when it was the European Hollywood. In those years, Italy become the centre of film and attracted the most famous actors and Italian and American directors. Celebrities like Kirk Douglas, Elizabeth Taylor, Richard Burton, Charlton Heston, Cary Grant, Clint Eastwood, Jane Fonda, Joan Collins, Audrey Hepburn, Gregory Peck, and Anthony Hopkins...acted in the "Eternal City.”

The exhibition takes the name of the Federico Fellini film, La Dolce Vita which portrayed what life was like in the 50s and 60s in the Italian capital. The collection brings together a large selection of historical photographs, designs, costumes, drawings, books and videos, mostly from the world of cinema. Rome became the centre of a new lifestyle full of glamour, featuring prestigious firms. Bulgari donated a selection of drawings of designs and photographs of great Hollywood actresses who wore their jewels, while Brioni presents a selection of drawings, photographs, period costumes, and a video of the first menswear show in 1952. To complete the vision of the charistic style of teh years of the dolce vita, the exhibition also presents two Valentino dresses and Cristobal Balenciaga dresses, whose collection inspired the 1957 Fellini film. Both are from the Costume Museum in Madrid-CIPE.

The exhibition shows the documentary “Hollywood on the Tiber”, by the journalist, critic, and film director Marco Spagnoli, who is one of the leading specialists in this era.
